Oregon

I'm in jantzen beach. If anyone close would like to take an 8 week? old blue swedish female. She is free. One of my neighbors saw a car drop her off in the rv park about a month ago. I took her in, but she is starting to be aggressive towards my 8 year old toulouse. I just want her to go to a good home.
Hi do you still need a home for the chicken? Are you sure it is a Pullet, and healthy? IF so, pls contact me...in NoPo. Thanks!

Hello, from Portland! We have 4 month old (hatched first week of April) Dark Brahma rooster we need to rehome. Free to a good home. Also in search of a similar age hen to add to our flock. Thanks!

Whelp....I'm in Beaverton and suddenly out of roosters. Looking for the right boy or fertile eggs.... haven't decided yet and thought the dice throw of what's available might help me make up my mind. If I go eggs, I will likely be looking for a quick turn over as I work solely with broodies. I'd need to find availability then connect when I've got a brooder.

I've got 20 lonely hens...but no him. Most are my Olive Egger project. Some are Cream Legbar breed backs. Some are Barnevelder breed backs. Sadly my Barney line roos aged out and passed. I've been using my blue line the last 2 years. But my Cream Legbar breed backs dont seem to have good rooster longevity....not sure why as hens are great.

Health is essential to me and I haven't brought an outside chicken into my flock...I think ..5 to 7 years. I've just worked on breed backs and olive eggers.

Now I'm at a cross roads and need new roosters and some new genetics. Pretty sure my cream legbar line is too inbred, egg shell quality and rooster lifespan. I'm also painting myself into a green corner losing the brown genetics and getting a boatload of green and blue.

Therefore I'm thinking of going dark brown first, so Barnevelder or Marans....either fertile eggs or rooster....IF the right boy.

Rooster MUST have a great temperament...no people, dog, human, child, hen aggression. Any nasties hit the soup pot on my place. My test is just pick them up and they don't really resist....no trying to claw my eyes out or biting. Some squawking okay.

Willing to drive 1 hour radius from Beaverton so Salem, McMinnville, Newberg, Oregon City, West Linn, Canby, etc.

Price negotiable. Working with egg money for my "foolish hobby." Hybrids fine if genetic lines clear. Looking for sustainable birds of good health, stature and temperament but not necessarily show quality.

Who all is in Oregon? I am in Oregon City!
Hello, we live in Oregon City too! We have chickens, ducks, and geese. We also are looking to sell our production breed of Cayuga drakes (4) for people who are looking for new genetics. They were born on May 10, 2024. We would hate to cull them. We are also looking for a local community to connect with.

Hi there!

I live in St. Helens and need to re-home a rooster and was wondering if anyone knows of a local farm (or an individual) that could use a friendly, 3-month-old whiting true green rooster?

Thank you kindly,
Sarah

Hello from Baker City! This is my first post- is there anyone from Baker City who happens to be missing a chicken since around Thanksgiving Day? I caught her and took her to my neighbor, thinking she was from their flock- he didn't know(they have sixteen birds) but said if I didn't want her he'd put her with the others. She was really tame and didn't struggle at all when I caught her.

Well, just a few minutes ago I heard a ruckus and she was in the same place that I found her the first time. She appears to be a good flyer, since she was sitting on top of a 5' fence. Beautiful bird, I'm sure someone is missing her- Picture is forthcoming-

A little blurry, I left some mash and water for her and she's settling down a bit. Will try to get some better pics.

I just don't have a place to keep her and am dealing with re-integrating a bird with my small flock. Another week and they'll be in a new coop and run and I could utilize their old coop to keep her sheltered.

A couple of closeups- I'll try to build a makeshift shelter on the ground for her- it's been dropping to the low 20's overnight.
