Oregon

Hey Oregonians! Happy Gorgeous Spring Weather! I haven't been on here in ages.... I changed my profile name and picture as I've been building my Urban Agriculture project.... Formerly wbruder17.

We are a very small homestead in the Johnson Creek Watershed focusing on friendly and beautiful mixed breed chickens, mostly Easter Eggers and mixed Silkie/ Bantams. I breed, hatch and raise Coturnix Quail and grow vegetables and flowers for a small Friend Supported Agriculture endeavor.

I love the chicken community and would be thrilled to have more like-minded folks to chat with! Please feel free to check out, "Like" and chat on my Facebook page at:

Its just a fun page where I post pictures and stories of my chickens and life in general on the "ranch"

Hi everyone! I'm in Forest Grove. I just got 3 chicks from Wilco today: ameraucana, gold sex link and a barred rock. I really wanted a golden laced wyandotte but the guy who got there right before me got the last available one. :(

I'm a newbie to raising my own chicks...done a little bit of chicken care for a local high school Ag dept in the past. There is a large coop in my yard already (rental) but it's built kinda odd and i think i will just get some materials to make my own A-frame tractor type that I can move when our lease is up.

Hey Cluck,
I see your adds on CL. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of coturnix do you raise? Jumbo's by chance? Tell us about your quail.

I don't do face book, which is why I'm asking here.

Thanks, Mike

, just be aware that ameraucana from a farm store/hatchery are actually EE's. Nothing wrong with them, I have one, just may not get the blue egg

ah good to know! I don't really have a preference for egg colors. The only problem I see is i keep wanting to add different birds because they're all so different and lovely. my husband would flip if I got anymore than my modest three chicks.
