I need HELP I have 11 more eggs to hatch under a Homicidal Hen. They are due to hatch today and tomorrow and she has already KILLED 2. Anyone in the Portland area have an incubator that is up and running that my chicks can hatch in??? Any advice how to save the rest of them???
Thanks

You can make a cheap home made incubator with a styrofoam ice chest, it's what I use and they all hatch just fine. I do hang warm wet wash clothes on the sides to help humidity. You can you tube it to see how.

Well, my sweet pekins have to be seperated from my chooks :( they are very randy, and causing serious stress. For now they are free range, we are home all day, but when school starts back up, they have to find a new home. What are the odds, out of 20 ducklings to choose from and stated 90% sexed to have two drakes?! Any one interested in two, or one very healthy 5 month old male pekin?

I'm in SE Portland, Oregon !

I'm looking for one more hen.
I'd like a Rhode Island Red, I think, but would consider any good layer pullet.
Hollar if you have one for sale or giveaway.

I have two 5 month old pullets now so probably should get one about the same age.

If they're pipping, you can just keep them warm I think.
When I was a little girl about 5, I was visiting my great grandmother.
She had a nest of eggs hatching.
I watched them all hatch except one, and then we had to leave to go to my aunt's house.
I wrapped the egg up in my grandpa's sock and took it along; it hatched about 4 hours later, at my aunt's.
I named the chick "Tardy."

The reality of farm living hit me when I visited my grandparents a few months later and asked, "Where's Tardy?"
My 85 year old great grandmother cackled as she walked over to the deep-freeze, opened up, and said, "Here he is!"

I am in Southern Oregon (50 miles East of Klamath Falls to be exact) and just lost my goose to a pair of American Buffs :( . The gander is absolutely heartbroken so I need to find him a buddy ASAP. If anyone is interested in giving up a extra (I really don't care which sex at this point), I will pay whatever and willing to travel!! I would just prefer one that is friendly to humans as there are kids around them frequently.

Thank you so much!
