Oregon

Looking for a good home for a light blue a Silkie.

I have actually been searching for a male silkie (full grown). I have to get rid of my brahma bantam rooster and hen first, and I'd like to get a bigger coop so he can be as comfy as possible (if I do get him). I'll have to ask about it ;)

Does anyone here have the Ador1 automatic chicken door? If so I'm curious about your feedback using it in our wet Oregon weather.

I purchased ours last spring. It worked awesome through the summer and fall. Then the typical rain and fog came. We are rural outside of Salem, and get lots of fog settling over the farmland surrounding ours. The door does not work properly for us when it rains or is foggy.

My husband has spoken to the manufacturer several times, completed his suggestions, but it still won't work on wet days. Only when the air is not moist does the thing open and close as it should. So frustrating for a door I paid $200 for.

Again, I've read many reviews of the door online, but I'm curious to hear from those in Oregon that have experience with it.

Hi all, I'm in Beaverton.

The Oregon page is kinda dead these days, but that could always change.

i have a weird question i am looking for someone who will come to my home and go over my flock and coop (check for mites, look at their poop to look for any signs of, well, anything) with me and talk about or explain their findings, and things i can do to improve my flocks well being. hopefully for free. if not for very very cheap. is there someone out there that does this kind of thing? if so some help on finding this person would be great. I'm about 30-40 minutes outside of Portland

thanks in advance for any information

I'm learning that, to a degree, weather can impact what type of run/coop set up keepers decide on.

I am considering sand in my coop and then more of a DLM in the run. Are either of these a bad idea for Oregon flocks? Anything special you can share on the do's or don't...any tips? Anything would be appreciated!

We will have 6 ladies, run will be 10x6, they will have free range time in the yard as well. The coop is 5' W x 3 1/2' H x 4 1/2' D.

Thanks!

I have a male sultan rooster. he is not tame but he's great with hens and other roosters and is not aggressive. He's really rare and only 20.00$. Private message me if you want him!
