Nice birds! Thank you for putting up pictures.

Sorry about the raccoons. One thing that helped a bit around here was using "live traps" to catch night prowlers. Mostly opossum and raccoon. Seems like raccoons are the worst predators around me.

Sending good thoughts that Goldie will out smart them. Sometimes the chicken wins.
:fl

Anyone here need a couple of 3 day old cockerels? Flock or freezer, doesnt matter to me....got two packing peanut males (specifically marked and listed as such by hatchery) and have ne need/use for them, prohibited by local regulations. FREE! Breed not certain.....large fowl, white breed judging by down.
Will have a few extra pullets too....just have to sort out what we are keeping

Hello Oregon Chicken Lovers! I am new to chickens and am looking for local hatching eggs from reputable breeders. I am specifically looking for: Buff Orpington, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Ameraucana, Welsummer, Black Copper Maran, and Light Sussex. Does anyone know where I can source the eggs locally? Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

Welcome! What general area of oregon are you in/distance you want to travel....or are you okay with shipping? There are some really nice birds available in many areas. Is there a specific color ameraucana you would like?

I am in the SW Portland area and would travel ~50 miles or so. More maybe for the right eggs. I am fairly open-minded about the Ameraucana colors so far...

There is a lady in forest grove working with some nice lavendar ameraucana....
Is her name Sheri by any chance? I will probably purchase some of her Ameraucanas and some of her Marans but still need Silver laced Wyandotte, Welsummer and Buff Orpington. For some reason, I just really want to have some Buff Orpingtons and thought that they would be fairly common but nobody seems to have eggs. :(
