I live in Vancouver and I love it here!!! The laws in city are no roo's and according to the guy in charge there is no limit on pullets, the only problem is if they have complaints, whether for noise or smells. So long as you keep it clean and take care of them you are good. I personally have 7 girls. I plan to keep more, I am hatching some Doms and Asils right now for a friend that has the best lines in the world of these types. I also have some Jersey Giants eggs that I will be hatching soon. My neighbors all know and are okay with them (that is important) and so I dont have to worry about complaints, I just keep them quiet and clean. If you move over here let me know! I am on the West side, I like it here more, its not so overly built up, and the lots are bigger. BTW...If you are outside city limits you are good to go with whatever!

Don't even know where to post this, just so excited my little peepers arrive Sunday or Monday. I have the indoor brooder ready for my silkies and Quail AntwerpB from hatchery. Hoping they do ok, just so excited. I like my new older chickens but just not as sweet as my hand raised ones were so looking forward to fluffies.

Even better, after visit to "Habitat for Humanity" have the rest of the supplies for my "bantam" only a frame chicken tractor. DH is a little worried because I'm already planning a 3rd "coop/tractor" . You know, just in case I NEED more chickens, etc

Come on baby chickies, please arrive before my next "plan" unfolds.

Question for NW Oregonians - I was out turning the compost and looking at all those big fat worms, which got me thinking about a question I've had before. People have written about gape worm and how it tags along with earthworms but that it "depends on the area you live in." Do you know if gape worm is an issue in our area? Have any of you had an issue with gape worm? (My chickens don't leave their run, so I was thinking about tossing them a few.)

Thanks.
