Oregon

Out of 35 hens/pullets, the youngest of which hatched in April, I'm only getting 2-3 eggs/day. None of the W/BW Ameraucanas are laying. I strung xmas light in the coop last Monday (the 14th) and still waiting for something more to happen! LOL!!

Christmas lights! That's a good idea. We just use a 40 watt bulb and it is helping. Egg production is increasing almost daily.

Hey all!

I was wondering if anyone around the Corvallis area has hatching quail eggs, quail chicks, or adult pairs for sale?

I've been checking craigslist daily but haven't had much luck.

I'm not really sure. They're great little birds!

I've found one single button male at a pet shop in town, but I'd hate to get a male that would have to be alone until I could find him a mate.

I have to thin my flock and find new homes for 5 or 6 birds. I live in portland area. All birds are very healthy just to much work with a major surgery that is going to leave me stuck in bed for 3-4 weeks scheduled for the day before thanksgiving. The girls are about 10 & 16 weeks old. Please contact me if you can give them a good home. Im asking 10 a bird. This is a hard decision but their happiness comes first. I also have a light brahma who is about 8 weeks old who is off heat but living in my garage and 2 EE 10 & 12 week chicks who I believe are roos.

Somebody does. An internet acquaintance bought several pair of cortinix from someone near Salem.

The gentleman at the Corvallis Swap who was selling rabbit equipment (in the corner on the other side of the doorway from ZooMummzy) raises quail and he is a couple of miles from the fairgrounds. I don't know what type quail.

Oh yes, I remember seeing him! I believe those were coturnix quail.

I'm looking more for buttons, but I think I might just have to order them online.
