I have a truck and enclosed horse trailer, but surely there is someone out there with a truck and/or trailer closer than me.

It's not the drive from Forest Grove to Colton, it's the 250 miles from Grants Pass to Forest Grove (and 250 back) that is causing my problem.

Come on someone, it's for a really good cause!!!

Awww! Great news! We have a guy with a truck coming and helping us, and he only lives about five miles away from us. And we bought a big ole crate to put them in. So we're covered! That would have been horrible for you to have to make that trip, especially the day before, the day before, Christmas!

Now everybody pray they get in the crate with no issue!

They are now home safe! They did really well on the drive, they stayed pretty quiet and very well behaved. We carried them, cage and all into the barn, then let them out. They did some honking and feather ruffling for about a minute, then homed in on the food bowl and water pool. Poor little things are hungry!

I got a quick video that I am uploading now. I'm leaving them alone right now so they can fill there little bellies and get settled in. They were eating, drinking, and preening when I left. So all in all, I'd say we're a success!

Will get you all the video ASAP!

Thanks for all the well wishes, I think it helped everything go smoothly!

Seriously bad video quality, had to change the tint to be able to see the Geese. My camera wasn't dealing well with the low lighting/artificial light conditions. I'll get a better one as soon as possible!

But wanted to share what I could of how the Geese are doing.

Just got back in from checking on them, while getting the chickens their night time snack. They are doing really well, but weren't all that happy to see me! Ha ha! Give me time though. I'll have them eating out of my hand (literally and figuratively) in no time!

Here's the video of the round up. Make sure your sound is on!

The friend taking the video did not have Kitty's name at the time of his editing, so it's not included in the "credits."

Enjoy:

Merry Christmas to all you Oregonians and visiters as well

(and geese wranglers).

New Year's resolution : incubators anonymous OR finding someone local with hatching eggs for silkies, BLWD, and/or andalusians. I'm pretty sure I know which resolution fellow byc'ers recommend. lol.

HO HO HO - Have a great holiday weekend.

Okay, so today I got some new jammie bottoms, polar bears on a blue background. I tried them on right away and I'm modeling them in the living room, while still wearing the black velvet top and red scarf that I had worn to church that morning, when my partner says, "Honey, there's a llama running down the street." Now, that took a moment to register, as this is a residential street and there are no llamas any where near my neighborhood. So, I take off outside, still in my unique outfit, slip on shoes and without tying the shoelaces, head down the street, yelling over my shoulder to my partner, "Call 911 and grab some chicken feed."
Long story short, the llama had come from a ways off, and across a busy highway to get to my neighborhood. Neighbors came out, a couple of people with truck and two cop cars, and with the advice of a couple of Alpaca farmers that had been following the llama since the highway, we managed to corral it. Another neighbor let us lead it into her backyard, and she tied a horse halter out of rope (nice skill to have).
The owners were found and it all has a happy ending.
Considering the general uptick in size of the recent animal rescues (geese to llama) I am feeling a little trepidatious about what might come along next!
