SO I have my two birds in isolation.....Per Cloverleaf farms...giving them duramyacin for 14 days...

@ CLF can you give me the name of that vet again??

can wild birds like sparrows carry the chicken cold??
we have a ton of them..I have been trying to put up the bird netting for 2 days the wind and weather have other plans..

I hate to think that little red cupcake with chaos on top is the captain tripps of our flock that would soo suck..

she is soo pretty and my dd has worked really hard with her..
moral of the story all ways know how your chicken breeder 'keeps' their chickens good genes are not always enough..

thanks again. Clover leaf farm owner....this is the second time she has saved our hens

at least I know how to repay her if I can find that special montinore resisling:))
this December one of our new girls had a stuffed crop and CLF gave sound advice of no food or water and warm olive oil down the gullet and massage the crop, it took 2 days to cure her..but she's a healthy little thing now

day 1 of 14 with additional feathered house guest!!

The vet is Russ Weinstein at North Portland Veterinary Hospital. Glad I've been of help!

I didn't know there was an Oregon thread! Cool! I'm in SE Portland, in the Johnson Creek Watershed and I have 22 chickens, 2 East Indies ducks, 2 Red Golden pheasants, 2 chukers and about a dozen Coturnix quail. We are trying to get into the Urban Farming "business" and I applied to the BUFA program. Hope I get accepted!

Hi GPSeniorchick. I have a GP address, but actually live in Hugo, just north of you.

I have 5 Sexlinks, . . . . . and a bunch of other chickens. I don't know why, but they keep multiplying. I've heard it's called "chicken math", and it appears to be contagious.
