Is anyone going to be giving their chickens the pumpkins? We have 2 carved ones that aren't rotting so I think I'll give em to the girls.

My spoiled chickens don't really like raw pumpkins so I bake or microwave, seeds and all and blend it to a mash. They can't get enough of it that way and it is a highly nutritious and free food from the garden.

Last winter :( One of the perils of chicken keeping! And no, I would not turn around so DH could get a face shot of me!!!!

I though some of you might like to see my new Doberman puppy. See, just like I told you: same same.

I drove all the way to Salem and the people with the Doberman puppies stood me up. That turned out to be great luck because this week, this lovely red merle boy was in need of a new home. The poor fellow is stressed about losing his home and family but I can tell that he is going to fit in well here.

The trip to Salem wasn't a total waste of time. I came home with 6 Midget White poults and a half grown Midget White tom. Let me tell you that 7 turkeys in a car for nearly 4 hours with the heater going stink something awful.
LOL on the turkey poults!!

Beautiful boy!! Good for you for giving a home to a pooch in need!!!

Quote: I love Paps! I have a PQ boy, and we regularly sit for a few show Paps that belong to friends of mine. :)

Here's my LeRoy:

Our other dog is a Border Collie / Heeler mix, and the biggest thing I can say about herding dogs is they MUST have a job. I'm sure you know that, but you don't KNOW it until you have one. LOL They'll drive you insane if they don't have a job! They are incredibly intense dogs...of course mine is a mix of TWO herding breeds...what was I thinking??!? Haa haaa

Twister....
