The man I bought the leghorn from had a huge flock and raised a whole lot of other fancy birds, i trusted he didnt give me a roo. many people who have seen her said she was too lol. from what ive read on here these EE's are supposed to be friendly, mine practically has a heart attack if i get within 2 feet of her!

she does seem really interested in the babies i have in a pen right next to their run tho. now i just need some dark layers, which i think ive found!! Yay

I love it when I take my animals to the fair and am standing there listening to people talk about the animals. "Look. It's a billy goat! It has a beard." Nope, sorry just a nanny that hasn't been clipped. "That chicken has a comb and it's huge. It's a rooster!" Nope, sorry just a Jersey Giant hen. But, that's part of the fair - educating people.

I know everyone on here has THIS same problem...'but if you want eggs you need a rooster'... really go tell that to my hens that lay me eggs every day with NO roo in sight. ive probably already educated about 20 people on how chickens work.
