Some hardfeather breeds, notably Asils, Ga Noi, and Shamos, are prone to bare patches on breast, legs, and top of the wings. It is not a defect, but is desireable........Pop

I am SO GLAD this got asked -- I have a leetle Modern Game Bantam roo with exactly the bare spots described and I was wondering what was going on.

Love the oriental breeds in this thread. Maybe when I have room for another LF pen I could get Shamos.

I don`t think modern games are considered "hardfeather". Asian, or oriental fowl usually fall in that catagory. Probably your leetle fella is moulting. He`ll look real dapper a little later on........Pop

Nice looking fowl, Friz. White Asils seem to be quite popular with folks on this forum. Chief has some nice ones and it seems to me he lives in NC also. Ya know what those yellowish feathers are from? It`s called "bronzing" and it`s caused by exposure to the sun. just some trivia for ya.......Pop

thanks, there should be lots of this bloodline all over the states and world since i have been sharing eggs for the last 4 or 5 years...i have been breeding my asils since 1987 & have shared lots of fowl & then started to sell eggs and let the people hatch them and raise them up on there yard...yes my birds do get sunlight which they need and the bronzing goes away for alittle while after the moult...
