from Gallo to Gallo kikitiki...:-D
out of topic a quick question.
Do you have any experience how barred rock color interact with black and barred rock with molted?
Thanks in advance.

Barring or cuckoo color are caused by sex linked barring. The typical version is a black bird with white barring, this is a barred rock, or dominique, or cuckoo maran, etc. You can put the barring over many other colors, however. Because this gene is sex linked, males can carry 2 copies, females only one. If you take a barred male over a black female, you will get all barred chicks. If you take a black male over a barred female, you will get barred cockerels, and black pullets. I'm not sure what you mean by "molten"-do you mean mottled? Mottled is a recessive, you can put mottling over about any other color/pattern, but, you need 2 copies for it to show up. So, mottled crossed with barred will not give you any mottled chicks.
This is all the simplified version of this. Hopefully it's good for now.

If a.barred male us bred to black hen then all his chicks will be barred.

If the female is barred and male is black then I believe all her sons will be barred and daughters will be black.

Correct josh.

Any ideas ???

Anybody have any pics of his shamo or Asil ?

thanks

Josh, the Cubalayas had a great year. I hatched a lot which helps. I have my eye on a nice BB Red cockerel which may be the best one I've hatched ever, been hatching them since 2008. This guy has the total package. Still working on perfecting the whites- need better head and beaks, and earlobes, on the pullets. Size is great though on the whites. Watching some blacks mature that look really promising-huge potential with the blacks !! They will be massive I think. I traded/gave away all my odd colors to other local breeders I trust who already have ongoing spangled /mottled projects. I was able to put a lot of nice birds into a lot of good people's hands, and to fill our freezer with meat. I do still have a few project birds a friend gifted me-I'm calling them the Shojo Cubalaya project...

As for Carl Brantley-he has a tremendous reputation for quality orientals. You won't go wrong with his stock..

Thank you
Gallo and josh.
I was referring to mottled color
I ask cos I friend gave me a barred rock aseel hen her tail is flat like a fan tail he also gave me a black hen she made of Sumatra, cubakaya ,brazilian and aseel.
I'm also getting her brother this weekend he told me the rooster has a fan tail.

The color is simply refers to as barred but in orientals cuckoo is more likely the color not barred color or barred rock color

Your sumatras are not mottled but are black and white splash if that's what your refering to?
either way the barring is dominate so they will be all barred/ cuckoo, blue cuckoo, blue or black.
Possibly some more splashes?

If I remember correctly you mentioned the mottled color was from a.blue sumatra hen so since.theyre carrying blue you can again possibly get blue cuckoos I've even seen really nice laced blues come from similar color crossings from my friends project

Good luck on your projects they all sound interesting
Keep us up to date on the fanned tailed fowl and how they blend into your existing stock.

Were you still breeding naked neck ?

yes when I said mottled I was talking about those sumatras black and white
I'll post pictures of those birds when I get the rooster
I have stopped the vulture project for now .
All i had from those crosses were negative comments.
Eww they are ugly, thats disgusting, what is that?.
I made a soup from one of those black skin NNeck black birds and it end up in the waste, I was the only one who ate from it.
I tried to made everyone to believe that the soup was an aphrodisiac thing they didn't fall for it.
I sold those that I didn't wanna keep just to find out weeks later when I return to the feed store where I sold them
That who was buying them were using them for black magic.
