Hey everyone! I've been MIA for a bit, but just picked up a cock yesterday after a series of flock problems this spring. He's from the lines of a guy named Andy Marsinko, and I wondered if anyone knew about his birds. He was advertised to me as Asil, and I didn't really question it (perhaps foolishly), then was told he's Thai. I've found some stuff on certain strains being blended with Thai, but considered Asil. Maybe I've been wrong in thinking Thais are a separate breed? He's quite rough in he pic from being in a breeding pen, and his tail would have given him away to me if it were intact.

Thais and Asils are very different, although often blended.

Can anyone identify the breed of this hen? I’ve had her for a few years and she was given to me by a friend that bought hatching eggs that were supposed to be Ga Noi. As they grew out my friend complained that they were not Ga Noi. The breeder apologized and said he had accidentally sent O Shamo and sent replacement eggs. My friend gave me this hen and she’s been a part of my free-range flock. Oddly, the guineas latched on to her and followed her around as if she was their mom (they were young but full size) and to this day if the guineas are with any chickens she’s there.
