There are no such things as Boles Asil. It's nothing more than a name meant to sell fowl. It also shows a real lack of knowledge on the part of the buyer.

Would you please elaborate on your statement. Mr Boles did bread Aseel. If your saying He introduced outside blood and his are not Aseel. All old breeders aid that or all Aseel would look alike .

Boles are GRADES which include any combination of American, Jap and Asil in their make up. Therefore, and because they have other blood than Asil, they are not considered Asil/Aseels. In CA. many folks just call them Boles and leave out the Asil part.

I am not a AG(American Game) guy but have old tyme friends that are. I have been told on more than one occasion that Mr. Boles NEVER let go of any hens, not even to his closest friends or family. He was that serious about his sport/ hobby. So how folks can have "Boles" is interesting.

I agree with Cuba. Cuba has seen and held many good/excellent Ko shamo so he has a good eye.

I will add that, even in Japan, there are many forms of the Ko. It depends on the eye and selection of the breeder. But most if not all conform to the accepted Japanese standard.

I am not an expert. Fowlman01, has also been around many great birds and Ko. Your birds look healthy and well cared for, so congratulations on a job well done.

He is my opinion: conformation, they look young, but even at a young age one can tell the most upright ones from the bunch. My first cull is at 12 wks for station (vertical stance). So they could be more vertical. Shrimp tails should be short and stubby. Tube tails can be longer but they need to be tube like. Yours seem to have softer/longer feathering. Try breeding for tighter shorter feathers.

The males have nice brows, eye color and almost no wattles. I like their fleshy faces too. I would recommend that you not breed #2 as he has very round shallow shoulders. Ko Shamo should have very distinict wing carriage. The wings should be held up, out and wide.

I know its a lot of information and I apologize if it sounds harsh that was not my intention. I have provide you with a couple photos so you can see what I mean. And, so you dont think i am just trying to me be "mean".

I agree, but it seems everybody wants to believe the boles myth. Everyone, and I mean everyone has a story with their supposed "boles" birds how the person they got them from knows a guy who knows a guy that stole them from boles yard when he died... I'm not commenting about anyone's fowl personally, but there is no doubt in my mind that there are no pure boles asil out there, just stories to sell fowl by either shady people, or people who like a good story. As we all know, nothing sells birds like a good story, and you got to remember the first rule with chicken folk, they lie! lol

Yea I see what ya saying, I think it may just be the pic I posted. But I do have to say I dont think my stags are that far apart.

You don't want them to be like a Cornish, but you also don't want the 'under' the body. They should follow the body down in a perp. line to the ground.
