Anyone have a clue as to the parentage of this chick? I know Dad is a White Laced Red Cornish. It’s 8 weeks old, uncertain about sex but I’m thinking cockerel, and perhaps hen feathered. This bird fears nothing, and all of the other chicks are afraid of this one, even much older ones. 😅 His mother was supposed to be pure Hmong, but the older she got, the more clear it became that there was more than just Hmong in there. The person I got her from has Hmong and Asian and Oriental Gamefowl. She is compact yet HUGE, extremely strong and a fierce mother. She’s bigger than the Cornish rooster she was with. The last four photos are of her.

Definitely a cockerel and possibly hen feathered. Henny feather is a double gene and incompletely dominant in my experience, He is plenty young to really tell acurately right now, it is possible though that he has one henny gene which would play into him starting to look a bit henny feathered. The hen looks like she has Cornish Game in her already, actually looks like she's half Cornish. She looks awesome by the way!
The cockerel looks really great too and that fact that he has Hmong in him can explain why he's dominant over others as well. It's also possible that the hen has other Oriental varieties mixed in, such as the Brazilian types.

That’s what I thought too. I have a friend who is insisting it’s a hen. 🥴 Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if Mom was Cornish x Hmong. She has blue skin like a Hmong.
He looks black laced red, although I’ve never seen this coloring before in my flock.

I purchased from Wahl. I should probably ask him about his line of blues, my guess maybe a bit of Thai or Malay in them, just looking at them. But Asil is a pretty big box as far as types, size, and characteristics... I will message him.

Mailed eggs are dicey, it’s been an all around dismal hatch this year here. Post office has been playing soccer with the packages (so far out of 3 dozen RIW and 3 dozen RIR eggs I have 1 live healthy chick for each breed)… out of all the dozens of eggs and different breeds we have exactly 6 chicks and several breeds no hatches… I can not Blair the sellers except maybe 1 who sent eggs completely covered in mud and muck and when we candled those they all looked not fertile to us. All other shipments from different folks had been packed good, eggs clean but the darn post office looked to have been playing soccer with the boxes, so cracked eggs, scrambled eggs… then bkack outs and a couple incubators going on the fritz. Incubators currently running are all working correctly so hopefully we can improve hatch rate.

The Asil arrived The eggs are resting, I will candle them latter for cracks, attempt repair. The incubator is on already to make sure it is functioning right.
Hi @Lauravonsmurf. I also ordered 12 from Wahl. 6 white, 6 blue. They arrived undamaged. Four were not fertile, six died sometime between day 7 and day 14 of incubation, and two of the blues hatched. Very disappointing. But the chicks are doing well. Tomorrow is day 28. I've attached photos for you. Wishing you a great hatch. 🐣🐥🐣

I'm also looking for legitimate Oshamo breeders that breed true to type and form. Thank you. ☂️
