What they have to offer is NOT Oriental fowl. Mostly mutted up oriental resembling birds. Save your money, research what breed(s) you want to raise and get to know some real breeders of Oriental fowl, getting the real thing and being knowledgable ahead of time will save you way more then settling for poor hatchery representations. Just don't want you setting your expectations too high with what you are going to receive from a hatchery that cares only about selling numbers, not true to type fowl.

I realize any bird I could afford to own isn't going to be very good by the standards of a serious breeder.

I would really try looking in your area for trusted breeders before you go the IDEAL route. Some of my friends on here persuaded me not to buy IDEAL's birds, and after some patient waiting I did eventually find an Oriental gamecock for sale in my area.

Saipans are somewhat controversial anyway, so there is really no standard I know of out there for them, but the Saipans from IDEAL don't even really look like Orientals. They look like someone crossed an Oriental with a Leghorn (which is probably exactly what they did). Don't get me wrong: you'll probably get some find pet-quality birds from IDEAL if you cull enough, but if you want to help preserve these breeds, hatcheries are not the place to start.

Best of results,

If all you want are some gnarly looking pet birds for your yard, the ideal birds will do nicely. If you want them for any other purpose, don't get them. Just adding that, because realistically, most people on this site just want a few backyard layers or pet birds. Which is fine with me-just don't ever sell those ideal orientals as the real deal, because they are not. Some of their breeds are fine I'm sure, but the large game orientals are far far from the pure breeds.

I don't know what split wings are, so all I can say is that, perfect or not, that's a nice hen you have there

Is she the hen you used in your Sumatra X Shamos?

Thank you guys…
Gresh.
Its called split wing when the primary and secondary feathers on the wings bay are seperated because of the lacking of feathers between them

Nice bird! That almost looks like the Thais from Xyooj Aviaries.

He is! I just bought it off Mr. Xiong.

Wow! Then you're getting a great representation of the breed!
