Oriental Gamefowl Thread!

LOVE the bird, but that high tail set reminds me of, as said, a Thai or Burmese.

After the pullet comment I seriously wonder if I'm the only "woman" here who raises games.

But I do agree with the saying.

I've got a few, but too new to post them.
Will try to get some pics this weekend, if I can get them to sit still.....

I only have the o shamo trio.....was just being good to let that comment pass.....LOL

Hey I just have one Shamo right now, used to have only two, from time to time had as much as 10, but hopefully I'll get back up to 4, which I hope will increase as the months progress.

I'm getting some new replacement pullets for my lost hen, but, I believe I'm too attached to the appearance of the lines my original pair came from so I may do a tad bit of line breeding to my original cock.

Your stag isn't Shamo, or I don't see any in him for at least a couple generations. I think either Thai cross or a Burmese/Pama (possibly cross) would be your best bet. I want to say I've seen some Pama's close to the looks of your bird, and usually when you find a grey (Silver) Oriental they almost always seem to be Burmese for some reason; at least that has only been my experience with browsing a lot of photos. Of course color is not of importance with Oriental, or gamefowl in general, but I still would say Burmese/Pama could be a possibility.

God bless,
Daniel.

Okay, thanks for the suggestion

A guy from Xyooj Aviaries here in NC also suggested a Burmese cross. I wish I could get a Burmese hen for my stag, but it looks like a Thai hen would probably be more practical and easier to find. Do you have any safe website suggestions that I would be able to find pics of Burmese games?

God Bless,
~Gresh~
