I might be getting a friend's Russian Orloff rooster from out of state, brought to Texas (west of Dallas/Fort Worth) so we can get freezes and colder weather (like 24f at sunrise with wind, too) which I know the Orloff can handle. But we do get hot days of course, 110f is our max whereas 95 is a normal summer day plus some humidity, heat index of 105 plus. I have leghorn hens and so they go free range and hide in the shady bushes on hot days or drunk their feet in a "pool" I made with an upside down trash can lid. Is that enough for the orloff, and how do I know if the rooster is having issues with the heat?
