Ornithology and Birdwatching

I'm going to Iceland this week (about to catch the plane now!) and will hopefully get to see some cool birds. Unfortunately the puffins are already supposed to have migrated but I will try to get pictures of anything else I see.
Have fun!

Wow, enjoy your trip! It’s always fun getting to add some new birds to your life list.

One of my favorite channels on youtube is Lesley the Bird Nerd

edit didn't mean to post yet LOL

I love her videos about bluejays. We have a ton of them here, and there are a couple that I named. Tåkete is a female with a bum leg, I don't know if it was broken at one point or if she has nerve damage but the leg just sort of hangs, she doesn't have much control of it. The other is another female that I named Linnie, after the Red-Shouldered Hawk (Buteo Lineatus), because she mimics their calls perfectly! As well as other raptor calls :)

My computer background screen/picture changes daily.
Today's is this!

Thanks for sharing, I'm always interested in bird channels. Especially if they talk about blue jays!

That’s a good point!!! Cardinals and chickadees are some of my favorites. And the birds of prey. We have a lot of ospreys here and some bald eagles. I love seeing the eagles because when I was little there used to be no eagles around and they’ve made a huge comeback. :love same with the great white sharks here but we’re talking about birds not sharks LOL but I just love seeing nature make a comeback is all :love and I love seeing the cardinals because they’re gorgeous and it also reminds me of my family that has passed away since they all loved nature too. So yeah.
Chickadees are my favorite, so much so that I have a chickadee shower curtain and light switch covers for our spare bedroom. 😊

Our rarest birds to date are a small flock of indigo buntings that visit every few weeks. Mr. Google said they don't like sunflower seeds, but that's all we have here so I beg to differ with the bird experts that say that!
