I saw some hooded crows again yesterday. While they may not be rare here, they're new to me and so I'm fascinated.

I watched it for a good 10 minutes before the jays discovered it and drove it off. It was preening here.

It's possible that the pair of jays going after the hawk were Linnie and her mate. She's very dominant over here, loud, and brave. I've never seen her take crap from another jay and I doubt she'd take any from a hawk in her territory, either!
