Are you going to be with him and is this in your pool? If your right there,now but until he is fully feathered and has oiled his feathers I wouldn’t let him go off by himself to swim in that deep of water.

Not by himself! It would be our bath tub. I'm not going to let him swim by himself until he's old enough.

Yes he’ll love the bath water deep enough to dive under. Be sure to post pics!! Just watch for tiring that’s when to get him out or water cooling off.

With how he is, it'll be a long bath but I'll keep a close eye on him.

I incubated 8 eggs & only 1 hatched so now I have him/her. Only 4 days old! On day 3 we put him in a dishpan about 6" deep of water & he swam instantly & even dove & swam under water! It's a mallard baby and he had crazy skills at only 3 days old! Yours will do great in the bathtub. I don't use a hair dryer on mine, just towel dry him and then put back under the heat lamp. (or hold and cuddle him under a towel on my chest in the recliner which he loves - snuggles right in & gets all quiet). So fun.

Sadly, I couldn't get 2 females as they only had 1 female left. The cages are next to each as Colonel doesn't accept her right now.

Even though I bought her, she is now my older brother's duck. Since she's a Chocolate Runner, I gave her to my brother as an early birthday gift.
He loves her already and is excited to finally raise ducks.

He's going to be 26 years old on May 6th. He has a book he got a few years ago about raising ducks.
