Orphan Kitten

Looks younger than 7 weeks to me. Might want to get some kitten formula and re-introduce the bottle - just a thought based on the photo and the possibility of dehydration mentioned in a previous post, and especially if he's not eating. Chance is a perfect name for him - I really hope he pulls through.

he does look younger than that to me too, and if he isn't, then there's def something wrong. A kitten of 7 weeks old shouldnt need heat or formula. if he is that old, he shouldnt be getting the formula, its probably the casue of runs. If he is younger, he needs to be cared for accordingly. Either way, his lack of appetite and lethargy are cause for concern. He needs to be seen by the vet in the next 24 hrs really. Very common kitten ailments include coccidia and respiratory infections. Both are easily treated, but if left untreated can kill him fast. Two weeks is way too long. If you cant get him to a vet ASAP, take him to a shelter. There he will be seen by a vet.

7 weeks would have a smooth coat and longer ears. I grabbed a pair from a guy that said they were 8 weeks. Not a chance. We estimated 4 weeks. and now they are 6 weeks and their fur is still sticking up, but softer now, as it should be.

I guess this guy at 4 weeks.

Agreed. He looks very much like the litter we have here and they were born August 29th, so a hair over 4 weeks.

The guy we got ours from, I had to take them. Just HAD to. Telling people they are 8 weeks and trained with no mama??? Mama trains them. They were NOT trained. They are now!! Mostly

You did a good thing. And they will be completely trained -- soon

My latest was left in a cat carrier in front of Kmart - for hours. She was bigger than 'Chance' but according to the vet was only about 6 weeks old and already had smooth fur. I agree - to the vet ASAP and if you can't swing that, then he should go the shelter. It's his best chance.
