I purchased these 2 as a cockeral (big) @ 23 weeks and pullet (small) @ 17 weeks. The lady had several hatches and had them mixed together so this was her best guess. She said her youngest pullers were 12 weeks and this was definitely not one of those. The small one is super tiny and I'm wondering if anyone else questions the age. It does appear a bit bigger in the pictures, but is super tiny in person.
The older one sounds like a hen and has never crowed. I'm kind of hoping she was wrong and I got 2 pullets.

This one didn't load previously. I can take a better picture as well tomorrow when we have light again. The lavenders all all adults so their genders aren't in question, just the blacks

Sorry, I completely misunderstood. :)

So, it's the two blacks? I believe they're a pair. Very first is a pullet, and the second, cockerel. #2's showing male specific plumage.

Sorry I wasn't clear on that part in my original post. Yeah two black ones.
I've never had orpingtons,so I'm not sure how their development is exactly, but the small one should be closer to full size if it is 17 weeks shouldn't it?

No worries. :)

She definitely seems on the small side for 17 weeks. That said, her comb/wattles appear to be on track developmentally. Either she's a late bloomer, or....much less likely, did the seller happen to offer bantams?
