I have two 2-3 week old Orpingtons and this breed is new to me. I’m surprised how skittish they are but always hatch and raise my own chicks and just bought these ones this week. Anyway what should I be looking for as signs for gender other then red comb and big legs? I added their pictures in hopes that something will help. Thanks.

I found that mine settled down and became my friendliest hens after a few weeks. I haven't had much luck with leg size. All of mine have had thick legs and red wattles.
My cockrells have developed big combs early on (around 4 to 6 wks) but a couple of my pullets worried me with their combs. (The pullets sometimes had pinkish combs.)
Good luck with yours, fingers crossed they're both pullets

great thanks now I’ll be less likely to worry and be more patient as I watch them mature.

Pullets and cockerels are the correct terms.

Still too young. You're looking at comb growth at 8 weeks.

But both of yours look to be pullets. Keep handling them and hopefully they become lap chickens like my buff I call her Miserable Mother Clucker aka Nugget
