Orpingtons - My Black and My Red Cockeral

The red one is really a looker as all are but I love that red color. It would be interesting to produce that color again in a pullet and then breed to see what happens. Start developing reds

That splash cockerel is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!

I want to breed Big Red back to some blacks.

The only thing black I have that is not from bbs lines is the little pullet from your MO pen, Julie.

I tried hatching some blacks from Gordie and the hatch failed. I haven't been able to get any black so far that are pure black. Anyone want to contribute some blacks to the plan?

Thank you everyone. If Curly had better feet I would breed him. He is easily 2 times bigger than the rest. He dominates everyone. He can stand toe to toe with Mosby and I think he will be bigger than Mosby. that feeder hanging behind him in the photo is a 22lbs feeder. He is just huge.

I will have some black on Black eggs in the fall when I move the Big black cockerel in with the girls. I have some really gorgeous black pullets out of my other black Roo over the black girls before I sold him

That would be great, Julie. mPut me at the top of the list. LOL

I have been looking and I am hoping to find some nice eggs to try and hatch even though it is late in the summer and the heat is getting gruesome. If I could get them growing out through the fall and winter by spring I could have egg to test from that big red orp roo.

Now I have to figue out which mean hen has plucked his tail feathers. I bet it is that big mean marans hen I have.
