This is a human problem. My ladies get yard time and treats daily, but today my 15wo BR jumped up on my forearm and opened up my forearm. I’m deathly allergic to bacitracin (google it, there are a few of us on earth), so i flushed my arm with water and peroxide.

I’m just having a sad. I was so happy when they’d jump up in my lap, but damn this hurt and chickens have poopy feet. I need falcon gloves or something.

This is what she did. And she’s sweet, but heavy.

I’m on vacation next week and will claim I defended my small dog from an eagle. It’s my story, and I’ll stick with it

There is a natural product called Curoxen that you might want to try!

Here’s a link to their website. https://www.curoxen.com/
I got a few samples at the pharmacy at my grocery store. Smelled awful/ worked great!

If you have any hibiclens or povidine I’d scrub it good, let it sit on their for a minute or so, rinse and rewash.
For the next few days I would wash it at least twice a day with one of these products but more gently and keep it covered-loosely “so it can breathe” to keep out additional bacteria.

Curoxen is available at CVS. If it's not on the shelf they can order it in fairly quickly. Hope you heal quickly and I agree about your small dog vs eagle cover story. One of my chickens bounced off my head twice and ouch, had to treat a scalp wound. Not fun. Take care of yourself.

That's pretty wicked looking for a scratch. Definitely keep an eye on it. There's tons of bacteria that can be on a chickens feet and toe nail. I would have been screaming like a baby. :hmm

Your doctor can RX bactroban- only topical antibiotic that will absorb and kill staph infection. We used in the ER all the time. I keep a tube. This antibiotic ointment is prescription only.
