that sounds fun, almost like christmas smile How often do you candle your eggs? Is it bad to do it more often?? After I saw the little swimming ones last night, I'm fighting to keep checking on them. I really want to look again tonight, but my husband says I should leave them alone. Can you hurt them by candling them everyday?
I personally think its ok to candle, my thinking is its just like the momma hen getting off the nest to eat, drink, poop and stretch her legs. I keep candling one of my bantam eggs, its just so cool to look at. I love showing my kids... Dd15 was looking at it with me Sat. night and she said Look mom its doing sit ups, lol. I think its ok until you have to go on lockdown (day 18? I have it wrote down in the other room). This is my 1st time incubating eggs (my 1st bator too), I got my 1st chickens last spring and have learned so much. I've had 2 BO hens go broody last fall and I let them both hatch out chickies. 2 made it from a Sept. hatch and 3 from a Nov. hatch.
* I think I'm going to go candle some right now
just to see whats going on!

That's funny. I was teasing my husband saying we should make I "heart" BOB t-shirts with a pic. And if "he" turns out to be a hen we would change her name to Bobbi
