One of our hens was completely normal until she suddenly couldn't stand. We thought it was a leg issue, but she didn't seem to be in pain and both her legs seemed fine She would just flop over and flap her wings, unable to really move or do much of anything. We helped her settle in for the night, and we went to check on her in the roost in the morning, she was lying on the ground, (we have elevated roosting pole things) staring off at nothing, looking absolutely dead. When we picked her up, her head and eyes rolled back and didn't resist at all. She wasn't dead, surprisingly, and we put her in a more comfortable place to live her last day (we thought). However, just later that day (today) she's completely fine again?? She's back to being second in command, walking around and pecking things, looking, acting, and sounding totally normal. It's completely baffling, it's like she came back from the dead. It sounds neurological, like a stroke maybe, but we were afraid it was an issue with their food so we switched it out for something much more expensive and healthy, just in case. Has this happened to anybody else before? We're delighted to have our Hazel back, but we're so, so confused.
