Our coturnix quail started laying last week. We have 8 females and 1 male. They are so much fun to watch. We are getting anywhere from 3 to 7 eggs per day. Ill post some pictures of them and the cage we built as soon as I figure out how. Last night I ordered my baby chicks to come in mid to end of November. We will start working on their coop this weekend. We have 6 babies coming in; 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, 1 Buff Orpington, and 4 EEs. We can have up to 10 hens where we live but we thought 6 would be plenty for our yard and family. My 4 year old is beyond excited. He helped take care of the quail from the day the hatching eggs came in. They are his babies and he named them all; Chip, Dale, Chip2, Dale 2, Robert, Sylvia, Dexter, Grandpa, and Grandma. We had 2 other males that hatched but I culled them. It was my first time and very hard but our poor girls were loosing feathers left and right. I also wanted to see if I could handle it. The meat was delicious and I had a very happy husband. As I said I will continue to update with pictures on this thread when I figure it out.

We will see if he likes them in 2 weeks. Our quail ladies are starting to lay so well. We had 7 eggs yesterday.
