Our Egg Hatching thread! Hatch: Nov. 7th (Hatching Video PG 57)

Hello!!! I think all 8 of my eggs are still doing good!! I will candle them again tonight just to check. What day should I stop turning?? Nov 4th? What should my humidity be up to on those last few days?
omg I am so excited, this has got to be the fastest 20 days IN MY LIFE!!!!!!

Yup, you stop turning on day 18 and if yours are due the 7th, the 4th would be the day! )

I did candle last night, right before I went to bed. All nine eggs are still alive and moving. they are very, very full though! The air cells looked good (that's the only way I have to judge the humidity level). No we're on the countdown - can't wait! I just hope that the hatch goes well. I know there's nothing I can do to help that out - we've done the best we can up to this point. The next week will be nerve wracking!

On day 18, when you stop turning, you want to bump up the humidity to 65-70% (I tried to keep mine at 68% and had great luck with it.) The last couple of days are nerve-wracking! It definitely helps to have buddies on here to wait with.

Okay my humidity has to be about 70%....how can I keep it that high? Extra water dishes?

What kind of bator are you using?
Yup, it's surface water (not depth) that adds humidity. So if you have a bator you bought, just add water to the extra wells. If it's one you made, add a wet sponge /cloth/or little dish. My daughter and I made an incubator and we used a muffin tin at the bottom. It works awesome for raising the humity because of all the little cups you can fill!

I have the LG still air. The little trench thingys already have water in them but the humidity stays around 30%. Could I put a little pan or something in there to help with it on day 18?

I'd say go for the sponges, many people use and like them. Also, then there's nothing for the new babies can knock over!
