One of mine was rocking too! I was wondering if it's just an extra big chick or if it's going to hatch early! I'm going to take mine out late tonight as well just because of that. I don't want any hatching over night in the turner! Than I have one TINY baby that is just moving all over in the shell and I'm worried it won't be able to crack it's little body on out of their. It's amazingly small compared to the others.

I got the bator stabalized and the eggs popped in

Ricki I'm sure yours are fine. I usually don't see movement before time to hatch either but this one is a big one I think. It's the first time I have seen this happen in my hatches. And I had some pretty good hatches so far. One of them was 100%

I wouldn't worry

I'm sure they are all fine.

good luck everyone. mine are due the 7th. only two that i didn't murder.... i candled tonight. i don't know how much of the egg is supposed to be full of chicken. they don't seem to be filling the egg as much as i thought they would be???

Well they should be pretty dark by now if they are due on the 7th. All mine but one are totally full and it's hard to even see them move. I wait and watch until I see one move before I put it back when I candle. The one that isn't so full is still moving around but I really doubt it will hatch. Good luck to you.

I put mine in the hatcher now and put the cupboard liner in over the wire. My last hatches were getting their poor feet stuck in the wire so I thought I would try the shelving liner like I have seen many use here. I am also hatching in the egg carton again like I always do. I'm not upping the humidity until tomorrow though. It's now holding steady at 45 % yet.

I took mine out of the hatcher today because 1/2 of the eggs were set on the 16th. The rest were set on the 17th around noon but they are eggs from Lisa Jordan and hers seem to hatch a day early anyways. They have done studies that show the hatch percentage isn't really lower from not turning after day 14 or something like that.

the rocking you see is prob the chick turning in the egg to get in position to pip. They always do this. When I take my eggs out of the turner within a hour they start rocking then stop when they get in position. It can happen but chances are they will not pip until at least day 19. And backwoods yes one twin can develope and one not. I know someone that had one twin hatch and the egg exploded when the one live chick did hatch. so if you can put it away from the other eggs.
