Our First Broody and Incubator Hatch: a Diary

Pics
This is day 22, did you candle the last one? When did the others hatch?
I heard peeps two days ago, but finally saw them last night. BlueBaby candled them before she gave them to me on Friday. I have not been successful candleing in the past... just don't have a strong enough light to know what I'm looking at. There's no cracks, I don't hear any internal pipping, but hate the thought it made it this far and wont make it further...
Another storm coming through here soon! I hope the electric stays on.
Good thing eggs can handle short bits of cool down.
I'm pretty sure both are NN, one fluffy yellow, the other a darker shade.... So for now, they are being called salt and pepper.

Has the hen been off the nest with the 2 chicks, and for how long? You can try putting it in the incubator for today. If the rest of mine that are here in the incubator don't hatch by tomorrow, I will be pitching them.

@BlueBaby
Took the words out of my mouth. Love the names!

Today I've noticed the wing feathers coming in on the littles, they're so darn cute.

I would leave her there and trust her to do what should be done. Trust her instincts.
So if she gives up, it's a done deal:hit
I'll keep my fingers crossed, but the two chicks are beautiful.... they are so tiny....
I think they look even tiner then the Aloha's looked since they are right next to a big chicken....Perspective makes a difference

:heWhy is it soooo difficult to post pictures? I keep trying, but my phone does not want to talk to my computer:th, and if I try to get it off of google, it does not go into my backyard media file.
