I just took some wet food out for everyone. Not fermented but wet. Ruby took little bits out of the dish and the chicks ate from her beak. Then she dropped some on the ground and they ate it.I so love my chickens

What a sweet picture that makes I like hearing that, chickens are awesome, so I guess ruby isn't really broody now getting up lots to care for her little ones?
If you hatch more will you give them to her?
Yes, if we get any more I will put them under her at night and hope she loves it. If we don't it's probably my fault. This was a learning experience though.
I have seen her up and stretching her legs and wings like she's working out the kinks. I'm so happy she's done with sitting in the nest box though. I would get up in the middle of the night to make sure she was still alive in there.
Yes, and those little baby bobble head chicks look so cute running around!
Thank you. I really love how they've come out. Appreciate that you let me have some before you even tested. I'm sure you'll have better results you hatchaholic.I learned from this though. A lot. I also appreciate your help very much

Your welcome! I knew that my roo was fertilizing them, I just had to wait until the eggs were big enough to try hatching them. The 3 eggs that I let @nicollee have today is sort of an experiment too. They were in my incubator and due to hatch on Tuesday. I tried to pack them in a way to keep the heat in and protect them in her ride back home. I hope that they will still hatch out for her! Good thing she doesn't live all that far away.
