Our First Coop

We have went way off topic  (it is hard not to when you start talking about horses ;)) but I have to ask, are those your horses? They are beautiful! If you would like to, I have a thread called “Starlight’s Training Adventure”
And I would love if you could post there and give me any tips or things that you do with your horses to work on with my Star! :)
No... not all mine. I get to go to some awesome places picking up horses and many of my friends have horses... most of my friends lol. Some of the photos are from when we were looking to purchase our "his and hers" horses.
K. I'll quit hyjacking 808's thread. Sorry...
Looking forward to updated coop photos 808 :) Aloooooha!

Weeeelll.....maybe.
Chat threads are fun, but it's kind of rude to make it happen in someone else's thread ;)

Leave it to Aart to be blunt and honest LOL, , You reminds me of my grandma and my dad, we need those kind of people. But don’t you think, it’s a double purpose? Someone hijacking a thread makes it more interesting and will keep it going? Just saying.

Some threads, sure...most others, not so much.

There are sub-forums for different topics/activities for a reason,
including those for stories, games, yakking, socializing, etc.
Topic threads should stay on topic, IMO, so they are more useful in the future.
It's a bear when one has to scroll thru dozens of pages of chatter to find the pertinent info. The main MHP thread is prime example, and there are many others.
This is basic net etiquette... :old ...from before texting and 'smart' phones.
I've been using 'forums' since they were called bulletin boards, the 'rules' of keeping topic discussions and social chatter separate were collectively respected, and when needed enforced, by the community. I miss those days...and yes, I'm an old curmudgeoness.

Don't look now but you seemed to have hyjacked too... with all of your usual sweetness of course. I did friend and move on. Mahalo, honesty and giving advice that is not needed or asked for are definitely two different things, some may consider that rudeness. But it IS time to get back on track. Guess we can all agree on that. 808 Sorry for my part.

Week 2 update: Happy to announce that while we aren't 100% done (still have nesting boxes to build, a second perch, and some decorative paint and trim) our 8 girls will be spending their first night in their new coop! We will close up the cut outs for the nesting boxes before leaving them for the night. My husband has worked so very hard on this all weekend. I feel so loved, because these are really MY birds. And if it had been left to me, we'd be in a real mess. Our girls have experienced their first Hawaiian rain. We thin blooded Hawaii locals are chilly. The girls are acting like it's nothing.

I've let the girls free range while my husband has been building, and have seen them and him interacting. I think he thinks they are pretty awesome, and they are.
