ceader shavings are what you do not want to use , they will kill chicks, you can use pine shavings. and glad to see you got chicks. good job!!!!!!!!! i love my LG's got 10 of them, and will have 100 chicks hatch in 14 days from now. william

With the fact that you had one extra chick, have you considered that the egg you thought was a duck egg might have been a double yolker and you got twinz???
