Hello Peeple!
We were pleasantly surprised this morning before work. "Bossy" our sole remaining hen, (predator problem, lost 4) has been sitting on that single egg in the coop,,,,,,,for 21 days exactly. I checked this morning, and as usual she was pretty grumpy, growling and all. As she lifted for me, I felt a wetness beneath her, then out of nowhere, came this little puffball! Our first, born in the coop, newborn!!! Beautiful markings! Slate blue with white and black markings. Orpington all the way! It was eggciting to see the others (8, 4-7 week olds) and her (it's) proud Papa "Blue" (A gorgeous rooster in his own right), just crowd around to "see" when the little peep made appearances! We are SOOOOOOOOOOO PROUD!!!
