Our introduction to keeping chickens, the high's, the lows and pics of our journey.

Sorry you had to deal with that Ben! I don't understand behaviour like that. There are some absolute cretins out there.

The adventure continues.

We had visitors yesterday, and the kid in the back yard must have made Dusty crow even more. Even I noticed it. We lost an egg, and last night candled the last one, saw movement and placed it back under AMy Wyandotte.

At about 12pm the prank calls started, some coward blocked their ID, and thought they would 'pay me back' with ludacris calls about my add in the paper. Clearly, he was a local that had joined the dots of the advertised roo to his local area.

If he had called even at that hour to 'make a point' and then was reasonable "hey, that bleeding rooster is a problem, do something about it" I would have been fine, even apologetic. But this guy was a real jerk, feigning interest followed by low offers and then flat out disgusting remarks.

Such a juvenile approach made my blood boil, why could he not have been a normal person and said it was an issue, threatened to call the council or even to come over and face up to me instead of hiding behind an blocked number like some yellow bellied pervert.

If Dusty does not find a new home today I will have to handle matter myself.

On the upside of live at Bens-Hens place, I found a small egg in the run today, I am guessing Taz the Wylkie laid her first egg! One or so days and we should have a soggy chick.

BLOCK HEADS are everywhere. and karma eventually get even with them.

Ha! Was not worth my time. I hate being bothered by such small details.

Checking on Amy at dusk, and she was hovering over the egg (not the normal sitting on) and I could see we have a pip! Might have that chick by morning!
