Our introduction to keeping chickens, the high's, the lows and pics of our journey.

AM of Day 20,

Hatch Count, 2
Pip Count, 7.

Both chicks look in great condition and am happy to see dark legs and silver (not brassy peachy coloured) down!

On the downside, the two chicks 'that came in like a wrecking ball' have tipped rolled and tossed everyone else, so it's hard to see some of the fat ends now so there may be more. I have not seen any movement from the wrong end pipper yet, nor anything leak out of it. Still have hopes for that one.

The eggcitement continues!

Hahaha, Yes, he is a Dad! Jewel, Baby and Lavern look also to be mum's, with Luna and Curly not far behind. Kinda proud to have done a full circle with our flock now.

We just had our third Ara have a birthday!

Hatch count, 3
Pip count, about 10-11, getting hard to tell in there

I can see you now, staring off into space with a " ain't love grand " look on your face at that wedding. Only the other guests will be concentrating on the bride, while Ben will be getting all warm and fuzzy thinking about his little " fluffy butts ". It's probably a good thing, this way you won't need that surgery to remove your nose from the window on front of the bator.

That's just too funny! And i would love some silver fluffies. DH woukd probably kick my booty, seeing as we already are feeding almost 70, give or take. (Lost 1 last night. Found her when I went out to feed before work. Likely hawks, as they love our area. Plus, have only been seeing half the free rangers while feedinglately. Not sure if they are hiding, or have already bwcome hawk food.)

I can't wait until spring to start the hatching again. :)
