So precious!!

They sure like the snow! We let them "swim" in it for about 15 minutes, but we were getting a little worried about their feet in the snow. I think they would have stayed out in for much longer, but they happily went back into their covered run for some greens.

Mine will run around for a while then lay down on their feet to warm them up. Now they have all gone back inside to lay around for a while before they start again. We got 11" since Friday. Looks like ya'll got more.

Your babies did look like they were enjoying themselves. My Runners seem to like it better than my Muscovy's and chickens.

Thanks. We're very guilty of being inclined to being over-protective. Having said that, we have not locked them in at night yet, as we had thought we would do more often this time of year. We did bank the section of run under the duck house with straw bales, and they like to hang out down there at night (although they have access to the house as well).

Martha will often sit on her nest in the duck house at night (she's the only one that is consistently laying right now). We're supposed to see single digits this week, so we may well be locking them in for that night.

They have such a nice cozy place to sleep. I am thankful mine go inside with out being prompted especially in this weather. At single digits I do believe I'd lock them in. Especially with wind chills.

I paid a lot of good money for those plans to be drawn up! ;-)

In all seriousness, it has been a fun adventure. There are some things I'd do differently if I had it to do over again, but overall we (including the seven ducks!) are very happy with this duckhouse and run.

To be honest, I'm not sure if I did or not.

The comment about paying a lot for the plans was a joke ;-)
