Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Hi Rene, sounds like you've had a busy day!

Sorry to hear your mom is back in the hospital. Nice that you can have her live with you so you can help her out.

Did you look at your RIR girl's foot? Bumble could cause her to limp. Hope she'll be ok!
Thank you Debby! It will definitely change our lives again, but that's okay, I will be here for her as long as she needs me.

I did check her foot and it looks fine. I'm thinking it could be in her hip, she might have landed wrong coming down from somewhere high, it could also be from the roosters. I just have no idea which scenario it is. She definitely isn't moving very fast or feeling very good. I might set up a hospital cage for her, I don't want the roosters bothering her while she needs to heal.

Dyna crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge today. I'm down to 6 hens now. :(

No sign of trauma. She would have been 2 this spring.

Well, my girl spent most of the day in the nesting box. If she is doing the same thing tomorrow, I will probably set up the hospital cage in the basement...there is to much going on in the garage.

My mom has surgery tomorrow to remove her hip implant. This will be the 3rd surgery she has had since she broke it. I want to go down and see her, but because of Covid, the chance of me being allowed in are very slim.

Hope all goes well with your mom's surgery Rene :hugs
