Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Good afternoon everyone! A lot has been happening! My mom is in the hospital again with problems related to her hip surgery. After talking with my sister it has been decided that she will be coming to live with us when she is healed from her current health issue.

The kitchen remodel continues.

On the chicken front I noticed today that one of my RIR girls has a very pronounced limp. I saw nothing unusual when I checked her over. I will keep a close eye on her to make sure she is not being picked on and getting plenty of food and water, hopefully she will start to improve soon. :(

It is a very lovely day here today, the sun is shining and the weather is warm! I hope you all have a beautiful day! :love

Hi Rene!

How is your RIR girl doing? I recently had a chicken with a limp as well. I inspected her and could not find an injury. I gave her B- complex and Vitamin E for two days and she's was back to normal by day 4! Might be worth a shot if your girl is not better😊

Going to try and catch up here! Hope all is well!

I forgot to post this yesterday. Hubs cut up the large branch that broke off of our Deodar Cedar from the snow this winter and attached it to the old posts that we had for our blackberries and raspberries. It is in a safe place under the tree's so no hawks can swoop down and get them. I kept trying to get a picture with the whole flock in it and I had to keep backing up because the Marans kept following me and getting under my feet! :love

I love that your marans follow you! Mine are the same way. It's so sweet until you trip over one :lau :barnie

I'm so sorry to hear this, Rene!! It is never easy to lose a chicken :hugs
Hi Rei! It's so nice to see you, baby must be sleeping! :love
Thank you! :hugs It is hard especially when I think that I might have been able to prevent it from happening. The Silkies have been segregated for right now, I wanted to see if it would make a difference and I can already see that it has! It's so much more peaceful, not perfect from a human perspective, but better!

They all follow me, I had just hoped to get a good picture of everyone, so I threw some scratch out for them. Evidently the Marans must have thought I had something even better... :gig
I've tripped many times, but thankfully I haven't gone all the way down & flattened any of them! 😂
