Hi everyone! I was out in the garden this evening, trying to catch up on some weeding and I had an owl fly about 2 feet above my head. It landed in a tree in the chicken pen. Then I saw two more. We think they must be young ones that are just leaving their nest!

We had our countertops remeasured today. The main guy came out to do it. We went over everything with him & think he has it figured out correctly. We will be meeting with him on Monday morning to lay it out on our new slabs. We shouldn't have any problems this time around.

We are taking a break & going Walleye fishing tomorrow & Sunday. Finally a weekend just for us to relax. I will be driving the boat most of the day tomorrow & Sunday, so I will try to check in.

Good morning Rene, how are things going?

Good morning Debby! Sorry, I haven't been here, it's been a little hectic. One of our good friends has been having strokes & we've been helping them with some stuff over at their place. Sadly, the doctors can't do anything to fix the problem.

On other health notes, my mom is greatly improving and I think we might be bringing her up here in the fall.

On the kitchen remodel, we are hopefully getting our new countertops installed this afternoon. This process has been a little stressful and we will be very relieved once it's in place! We are getting close to completion, but some things will be stretched out even further as we wait for supplies. I'm still waiting to decide on the tile I want to use for the backsplash, but I'm almost certain I will be using the green. It and the blue tile I was looking at are out of stock until September 5th. I will be looking for something else, but it will have to be something special for me to buy it. I have a feeling that the tile won't happen until this fall.

The flock is doing well, except my girls back feathers are disappearing, I feel so bad for them, I'm assuming it's the roosters, but I just haven't had time to sit out there with them and see just exactly what's going on. When I get some time, I think I will try to make some saddles for them and see if that helps.

We have a couple of trips happening in September and October. We will be going to Florida in October with our youngest son...a week of grandbaby time...I can't wait!
