Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I am sitting at the Mazda dealer this morning, waiting for them to check an issue with our navigation system. They will be replacing it, but that won't happen today. After this I get to return extra stuff that we didn't use when we tiled the kitchen. Money back is always a good thing! I hope you all have a great day. 💞

Rene, what breed of Mazda do you have?

I have a CX-5 and the nav system is a piece of junk.

I have a CX-9, we went with the larger model because we planned to do a lot of traveling in it. My nav system has pros and cons. I'm really not impressed with it's navigation, searching for a location is a pain and you can't do that if the car is moving & the touchscreen isn't available while driving. I wouldn't use it, unless I was in the passenger seat. Ours developed spider cracks in the corner...from what I read it's been a known issue for years. You'd think they'd figure it out. I've also been having some issues sending & receiving calls, they said it needs an update, that will hopefully be resolved when they replace it. It won't happen today, so another trip to town, but I knew that would be the case.

I haven't had any problems with phone calls but hear you loud and clear on the nav system, it's a total pain to use.

Interesting you mentioned your windshield. I have an appointment to replace mine for the 2nd time due to cracking. Once was due to road debris but this latest happened just parked in the driveway. I came across this review just today:
"The 2016 model also received many complaints against the windshield. However, this model has one strange difference to it. Instead of small rocks causing tons of damage, cracks would come out of the woodwork, so to speak, for no apparent reason. Owners would park their car with a perfectly fine windshield, only to come back an hour or so later and find cracks from nowhere. No dents or chips on the glass, so they couldn’t have come from rocks or other debris being thrown at it.
Some even reported that the cracks showed up right in front of their eyes as they were driving down the road. They said they first heard some cracking and popping noises, and then they saw the cracks form. Again, nothing hit the windshield before the noises.
Like the previous model, the sensitive equipment installed within the glass causes replacements to be very expensive. Some owners had to pay the deductible cost, which was around $500 for some. But others without glass insurance saw repair bills upwards of a thousand dollars."

Bummer to know it could easily happen so easily again.

The spider cracks are in my nav system screen. I do however have a crack in my windshield, it's down low and runs all of the way across, so I'm not going to replace it unless it goes up the middle. If mine started to break and there was no reason for it as you described...I would be talking to Mazda management & demand they take care of it...sounds like it should be a known issue.

I had to leave for my next destination & didn't finish my above post. I hope that you don't continue to have problems with your windshield. We use Novus and they have always waved my windshield replacement deductible. You have to ask & it probably has something to do with how much your deductible is. It never hurts to ask.

We had a fun time at the Star party last night. There was a guy there who had a telescope similar to ours. He was very helpful & showed me a lot of different things...now I just need to remember it all!
A quick share before I finally fall asleep!
First picture of the moon!

Video...it took about 1 minute & 38 seconds for the moon to move out of view. Our scope has a clock motor...I need to look up it's actual name...anyway we set the scope up at true north, the man that was helping me had a power pack he let me use. then when you plug it in, it will track what you're looking at and keep it in your view. Without that feature turned on anything I was looking at would move out of view as shown in this video.I had to keep readjusting the scope until I plugged it in, it did an amazing job.

Good morning everyone! I thought when we finished the kitchen that life would slow down...it hasn't, in fact we've gotten busier! Projects outside & stuff away from home. Mostly fun, but some necessary.
On the chicken front, I now have 2 broody girls...I hope it's not contagious...:gig I will try to get a picture to share of the silly girls this morning, before I head out!

I woke up early today, the mosquitoes have been eating me alive & it's hard to sleep...lol! I'm volunteering at our local senior center today...that's such a weird thing for me to say...I don't feel that old...except some days! 😁

I hope you all have a beautiful day! 💞
