He's molting. They molt every year and it will take about 7 months for his new feathers to grow in.

What a gorgeous fellow.

Yes they are...I've only heard Shyam call once. I believe they make the sound more often during mating season.

Have you figured out how you will capture him, and keep him inside one or your runs???? Or do I need to make that journey west,,, and help you out.
