Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Pics
You'll probably have better luck with the younger ones, taming them and breeding them. Maybe you'll get some of the same white/black/grey with offspring!
That's what I was thinking! I need to be able to handle them without injury to myself or them! It will be interesting to see what I get from these 3! I'm really tempted to get a different Buck from someplace else, to strengthen the gene pool!

The rabbits are here! Our friend has so many rabbits, we had our choice! He wouldn't let us pay him for them. These are a New Zealand cross, he couldn't remember. I'm going to contact our friend who gave the male to him and find out! I chose young rabbits, because they were all running wild and I'm hoping to tame them down.

Our Buck! So little!

No, not just for fun, though I'm sure I will enjoy these 3! We will be raising them to provide food for our family! Preparing for tough times ahead, but hoping it will be better than we think it will! I love bunnies too, this will not be easy. :(

Oh okay... I didn’t know you could eat any type of bunny.. I thought just the white meat rabbits.. but I guess you could really eat almost anything sooo...

I dyed my eggs today... they are so much richer than the white eggs dyed... the different shades of the same colored eggs are because the eggs were different colors..

These are meat rabbits! They are a New Zealand cross! New Zealand is the best meat rabbit at least that's what I've found researching them!

My understanding is;;; it was the sauce he made for spaghetti. I guess the acid from the tomatoes would make the rabbit meat TENDER. :idunno
I am not a rabbit eater, so not sure how tough the meat would be from a mature rabbit. The local live poultry store where I have purchased chickens from,, (I took live, and kept for my flock of pets) sells rabbits as well. They also sell pigeons. You take dressed, or live like I did. Same price ether way.
