I used to do White dove release with my grandchildren. I currently don't have doves now.

Your grandchildren are adorable! What an awesome thing to do with them!

My husband just called & told me that he & my youngest son decided to brave Daphne & hold her so the kits that aren't getting enough milk could nurse. He said it went pretty well, except the babies squirm to much. I told him that maybe there isn't much milk, so they are looking for a better source. It really will be a miracle to keep them all alive!

I think you have a good chance at keeping them all alive if you keep working on increasing mommy’s milk, and supplementing with formula (AFTER they have nursed).
The first few days are the riskiest.

We're trying...they are so fragile at this age! I always check after they have nursed. It's hard to tell how much they are getting with the dropper, hopefully we can keep them going until the mini nipples that I ordered arrive & hopefully they will accept the nipples better than they've accepted the eye dropper!

Hey all! Dale found this baby bird in our free range pen! Our chickens were already in their coop for the night. I posted the pictures on the ID forum & some say chicken, others say turkey! It must have gotten separated from its mother, whatever she is! It's kind of an ugly duckling right now...lol!

I think it's cute. Maybe another week or so will reveal what kind of chick it is.
