Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I do love the look of leaves falling but I know exactly what you mean! We have giant trees and it is really hard work to get them all picked up every year! At least now I don’t have to burn them.. I just give them to the gals....
I just realized that I probably need to stop saying ‘gals’ and say flock instead.... after all.. TRUMP isn’t a gal! 😳

Today is a video day! I'm enjoying my flock and the last of our warm weather...it's supposed to hit 69 today...it's still windy, but not cold! I went out for a cruise around the chicken pen and everyone had to follow...even the big boys...many of them right under my feet! :love Sorry if I made anyone dizzy by swinging the camera around, I wanted to get them all in there and I wasn't panning as slow as I thought I was...lol!
Also an update on the roosters, I believe Maximus has taken over as head rooster...my husband said he saw him chase Roo 2 all of the way to the far end of the pen the other day and I saw him put the run on him today! This is what I thought would happen.

They are beautiful! And Maximus is gorgeous!!!!

We used to rake them up, but as the trees grew there just got to be to many...we have a lawn sweeper that we pull behind the riding mower...it's still a big job, but much more doable!

We have that too but I find it a pain to dump so I rake and blow them :th

I guess everyone has their way to deal with their leaves. I have a good mulching lawn mower. Everything that grows and falls into yard/lawn gets mulched. Excellent soil buildup.

I do it multiple times, and it all disappears into soil.
I do have good size campfires, but leaves create unnecessary smoke.

I find things are the same between me and the gals with TRUMP around.... I’m very glad for that cuz if it would have changed then I’d probably not keep him...
I have been wondering about that. That is great news. Sounds like that Trump is a real keeper. :clap

Rooster

good luck Rene! They are definitely adorable. My son and his family are trying to get rid of bunnies right now also.
You know thinking about this I'm wondering, is it hunting season there? It is small game season here and the people that like to eat rabbit are out obtaining their own wild ones. Your timing could be very bad on this bunch. That may be adding to the depressed market.
