Our Mixed Flock Journey!

That's great you can repurpose so much!

Those home improvement shows where everything is destroyed with a sledge hammer just about kill me...the waste. :hmm
I know what you mean, but I would like to take a sledgehammer to a wall...just once...:gig
Anything I couldn't use would go to habit for humanity or Goodwill. I can't stand wasting anything!

Good evening, I hope you are all doing well.

Seems like I have one project after another. A friend asked if I could fix their zippered boat enclosure...it was not a fun project, but I got it done. We're still finishing up the lower cabinets and between drying times working on the upper cabinet doors so they will be ready when It's time to paint. Dale wanted to start the new range hood cabinet, but we haven't picked out our tile yet, so I don't know how thick it will be! Waiting for some supplies to arrive. We are picking up our new casement window tomorrow...it will be nice to take out the broken garden window.

On the chicken front, Spazzy is still sitting in the nesting boxes, I want to put her in broody jail, but it's still to cold, night temps will be in the teens for the next week and I don't want to remove her completely from the flock. She seems to be quite healthy and doesn't seem to have lost too much weight, but it's been a month...I was hoping she would get tired of sitting, but not yet.

Hi there! Sounds like things are moving along for you! And I don’t know how yall stand that cold for so long! We get it in spurts.. for a few days now it’s been in the 70s but this weekend we are getting really cold! I was hoping we were about done.. at least with the really cold stuff!

Hi! Yes, slow but sure! It helps to have a warm house and I have an electric blanket in my lap as I sit here at my computer...I kind of like having the computer out of the kitchen...it's cozy and private in my new setup! That being said, I'm ready to be done with the cold weather too, but in all honesty it has been a pretty mild winter for us!

Try and stay warm! :)

I agree. They break my heart smashing cabinets. I have old kitchen cabinets in the laundry room, garage, and shed! Repurpose!

When we redid the kitchen, DH took the old cabinets and put them to use in his work shop. Very handy (and cost saving) to have them.

We try to repurpose everything we can. A lot of the older things seem to have been better made than the new stuff.

That is so true. Imagine how many people have replaced solid wood cabinets with flakeboard ones over the years and just thrown them away.

A month is a very long time. I would consider breaking her.

I used my old cabinets to make the nesting boxes in the Chicken Palace.
