Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Yep, that's how it is around here lol! It seems like our entire marriage has been one project after another & thankfully our marriage has survived them all...from remodeling our first home to building our second, plus everything in between & after...it's hard when one person has a specific vision & the other can't see it, but we usually get it figured out in the end.
That is the difficult part for sure. Or when person doesn’t the explanation for why their idea doesn’t work when it makes perfect sense that it will :lau Can’t tell you how many times we’ve had those conversations! Glad you guys can work together Rene, I think that’s the secret to a long marriage, figuring out how to work together. And you have to laugh.

All of this exactly and being able to laugh is key! Our first big conflict was doing wallpaper in the bathroom of our first home...tiny space...different ideas...not understanding the others methodology = an explosion about to happen...which it did...yet here we are 36 years later and still doing projects together! I still don't like wallpaper...:lau

I don’t remember what we first blew up about but I vividly remember a few heated discussions with hen it came to the coop and such. By the time we got to the garden I just said this is what I need, here’s the space I blocked off, please help me make it work. I, of course, made it complicated by making the space 16x17 feet :gig

I'm sure you were just trying to use as much space as you were able! Hubs is actually pretty good about making things work for me and we both think of reasons why it will or will not work. I've learned to be as specific as I can...but sometimes it's hard to cover all the bases!

Laughter is key! 🤣

I finally messaged my friend about the new chicks. He said he's waiting to hear from the guy to let him know when he has more available...so I have no idea when. That's okay though, since we are so busy with our update project! I've also decided not to get the Lavender Orpington. I decided that it will be better to get two of the Wyandotte's. I don't like having the lone Faverolles and I read that Wyandotte's do better if there is more than one of them. From now on it will be two of a kind, no more singles. I will still be getting the 2 Cream Legbars. I just don't want to overcrowd by buying 2 Lavenders also!
